Exposé Writing for Theses

Your studies are coming to an end. But before you can really get started with the thesis, you need to summarize your plans in an exposé. Time is already short anyway. And if you’re honest, you still don’t know what’s actually expected of you in an exposé…? Don’t worry!

In the workshop, you will discover that the exposé is not a tedious writing task, but the foundation on which you build your scientific work. Whether you are discussing a topic, communicating with supervisors, or structuring your work and writing process – the exposé will help you systematize your thoughts and uncover open questions.

In the workshop, we will approach the exposé as a text type on the basis of the following questions:

  • What is an exposé and what communicative purpose does it serve?
  • What belongs in a good exposé and how do I structure it?
  • How does the exposé help me plan the individual work steps?

By the way: Even if an exposé is not explicitly required, it is a good way to clarify the content and objectives of the thesis for yourself.
