Stud.IP is a so-called open-source learning management system (LMS) which has been available free of charge to all members of the University of Oldenburg since the 2003/2004 winter semester to support university teaching.
Stud.IP supports face-to-face teaching with online features. It provides lecturers and students with a wide range of course management options, such as:
- Course announcements
- Uploading and downloading materials
- Online exam registration
- Online access to marks
- Wiki functions
- Forums and chat
- Evaluations
- Bibliography management
- Consultation hour bookings
- Electronic support for face-to-face teaching (exercises, tests, response system)
- Recording of lectures
- Video conferencing
Stud.IP is now used by well over 50 institutions in Germany. At the Oldenburg campus, there are over 25,000 registered users (as of November 2015). Please refer to the Stud.IP statistics for the latest figures.
