Module 2 - Component 2.4
Research-based learning is highly valued at the University of Oldenburg and is anchored as a central concept in the mission statement for teaching. In research-based learning, students carry out a research cycle during the course of their studies (in addition to their final theses) that is as complete and self-directed as possible. As a teacher, you are faced with the challenge of organising and supporting this process in an appropriate and goal-oriented manner.
This workshop offers an introduction to the theoretical and didactic principles of research-based learning. Central aspects of this didactic approach will be addressed, such as the theoretical positioning of learning, the degree of independent work by students and the role of teachers.
In addition, the programmes at the University of Oldenburg that support teachers in implementing research-based learning are presented (see forschen@studium). The application process will be explained and participants will be able to sharpen their ideas for the application in this workshop.
If you would like to deepen the theoretical foundations through a practical application, we recommend taking the workshop together with the course "Research-based learning - suitable examination formats and practical implementation". The second workshop deals with the practical planning of courses in the format of research-based learning with regard to suitable examination formats.
