ESHE 2011

3rd Workshop "Enterprise Systems in Higher Education" (ESHE11)

as part of the

41st Annual Conference of the Society for Computing Science

TU Berlin - 4 - 7 October 2011

Content of the workshop

Enterprise systems, such as ERP systems, are now an important part of a company's IT infrastructure. The integration of such systems is therefore also playing an increasingly important role in higher education. Due to the high potential of enterprise application systems in the areas of illustration, visualisation and the simulation of business and decision-making processes, enterprise application systems are receiving a great deal of attention in current research for future technical and pedagogical innovations in higher education. The main challenge here is to demonstrate these potentials and make them tangible for the teaching of business application systems. There are currently various approaches (case studies, e-learning programmes, simulations, etc.) to enable students to learn how to use such complex systems.

As a continuation of the workshop series, the third workshop on Enterprise Systems in Higher Education (ESHE) will again focus on innovative concepts in the area of creating new, adequate learning environments, as well as on possible technical solutions that can create technologically-supported learning environments for teachers and students. The aim of the workshop is to bring together experts from research and practice to jointly discuss and develop issues and challenges in the field of teaching using operational application systems.
