Derivation of an IT strategy from a corporate strategy (using the example of an IT service provider). Alongside other factors, a company's IT is a central component of service provision and is subject to constant technological change. When organising IT, the implementation of a company's business strategy should be supported as well as possible and not hindered in any way. The IT strategy creates the framework for the organisation of IT, so business and IT strategy are directly related. The aim of this Diplom thesis is to work out how an IT strategy can be derived from a company's business strategy and how strategic fields of action for IT can be identified. In doing so, common strategy methods should be considered and their suitability for the derivation process assessed.
