Conception and implementation of a tool for analysing semantic models
Conception and implementation of a tool for analysing semantic models
Research at the Department of Information Systems in the field of "Evaluation of product development processes" uses semantic models to visualise complex issues in product development. For example, product models from different phases of development are linked together in order to obtain information on the current state of development.
To view individual concepts, a description can be called up that contains links to linked instances. These links should be navigable in the same way as in a web browser. However, other forms of visualising these networks are also conceivable. The following questions and tasks can be dealt with in this work, depending on the idea and scope:
- Conception and implementation of a "semantic browser" for web-like navigation in semantic models.
- Development of further concepts for the visualisation of semantic networks.
- Evaluation of representations of complex networks for application to semantic networks in Permeter.
The "Permeter" software is based on the Eclipse Rich Client Platform. Prior knowledge in the following areas is advantageous, but can also be acquired: Eclipse, Eclipse RCP, SWT, Semantic Web (OWL), Jena API
