Meine Doktorarbeit ist Teil des Projekts Epiphyten und Wind. Ich bin besonders interessiert an der biomechanischen Antwort von Epiphyten unter Starkwindeinfluss und wie unterschiedliche Morphologie und Flexibilität den streamlining-Effekt beeinflussen. Ich werde außerdem die imanente Zugkraft von Wurzeln und ihre Halteeigenschaften quantifizieren, um den Mechanismus des Anhaftens von Epiphyten an ihrem Substrat zu verstehen.
