Eric Ahlberg has been teaching English academic writing in German universities (previously Braunschweig and Hannover) for the last several years, including for graduates. The approach taken in his workshops and classes is that written language should not be an obstacle to understanding, but instead let your research stand out via clarity, accuracy and readability.

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Eric Ahlberg also studied and worked in journalism in Canada. He came to Germany in 2010 to study his MA in English philology at the University of Münster.

You may contact Eric via or come to his office hours.

4.9 English+ "Open Seminars"

Below is the topic schedule for our new seminar series. Each meeting is split into three different roughly equal phases. The first 30 minutes will be the topics given below. The second will be devoted to your own specific questions from what you are working on. The third phase is devoted to discussion, so we can practice speaking English about interesting and relevant scientific issues in a relaxed environment, in English. You are welcome and encouraged to bring in small bits of your works for help, review and discussion.

The fee of 30€ applies to a total of four seminars you are attending. You do not have to visit all meetings, and can flexibly decide which you would like to visit after you have registered for one "turn" of four seminars. After you have attended four seminars you would have to register again. Of course, you are welcome and encouraged to visit as many as possible.
