The international Negotiation Festival
The Negotiation Festival 2021 was an international event in which participants discussed cross-cultural negotiation experiences, developed, executed, and evaluated negotiation strategies related to international business and gained important input from business and university managers regarding negotiation processes.

Improving negotiation performances
Participants, inter alia,
- learned to understand negotiation processes and improved their role as effective negotiators,
- became aware of their own personal negotiation style and the styles of their team members in a challenging, action-oriented, international environment,
- understood the differences between distributive (“win-lose”) and integrative (“win-win”) negotiations.
Strengthening tool kits
Participants acquired new negotiation tools and improved their behavioral skillset. They developed an attitude for maximizing value and minimizing resistance in sustainable negotiations.
Developing alliance negotiation skills
Learning goals for the participants were, amongst other things, to
- Develop hands-on 21st century skills.
- Test their negotiation skills with HR-managers.
- Examine the role alliances play in international business.
- Learn to understand the process of business partner selection.
- Discover compatibility between partners.
- Build alliance and negotiation skills in the perspective of international sustainable growth.
- Become aware of organizational and relationship dynamics.
- Gather understanding of the dynamics affecting alliance team’s behavior.
- Collaborate internationally for sustainable and social impact.
What was the challenge?
The challenge was to negotiate with recruitment managers in a job interview simulation and to select potential business partners within a team.
Who was participating?
Students and managers from universities and businesses in the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden.
