The group Inorganic Chemistry (Prof. T. Müller) at the Institute of Chemistry at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences seeks to fill a position of a
PhD student (f/m/d)
Salary according to TV-L E13, 65%
at the earliest possible date. The position is part of a DFG funded project “Construction, Transformation and Derivatization of Heterosila-adamantanes”. This project involves close collaboration with the research groups of Prof. C. Marschner (TU Graz, Austria) and Prof. M. Wagner (University of Frankfurt, Germany).
The position is limited to 3 years and serves for personal scientific qualification (doctorate).
Your tasks will include:
- Construction, transformation and derivatization of heterosila adamantanes and performing mechanistic studies (experimental and theoretical)
- Close collaboration with cooperation partners of the project
- Publication of research results in scientific journals
- Active participation in scientific conferences
- Supervision of students
Recruitment requirements are:
- Scientific university degree (diploma / master's degree) in chemistry or a comparable discipline
- Passion for inorganic molecular chemistry
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel
Ideally you have:
- Experimental expertise in synthetic organoelement chemistry, especially silicon chemistry
- Knowledge of heteronuclei NMR spectroscopy
- Experience in or willingness to learn quantum mechanical computational methods
- Willingness to supervise students
- Very good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team
