The Department of Computing Science in the School of Computing Science, Business Administration, Economics (School II) of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg invites applications for a
Professorship (W2) in Digitalized Energy Systems
commencing as soon as possible.
The Professorship in Digitalized Energy Systems will bridge the research areas of energy informatics and business information systems at the Department of Computing Science, and complement the existing expertise of the Department of Business Administration, Economics and Law at School II accordingly.
We are inviting applications from individuals with a known expertise in energy informatics or business informatics in the context of the digitalization of the energy industry and who have extensive experience in research e.g. in one or more of the following research areas:
- decision support systems in the context of energy management applications
- game theoretic and agent-based methods in energy markets
- modelling the interaction between information technology and business processes (Enterprise Architecture Management) in the energy industry
Candidates should preferably have experience in the acquisition of third-party funded projects. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching the German and English Bachelor's and Master's degrees in computer science and business information systems and also to offer basic courses in practical informatics. The professor will be particularly involved in teaching specialization courses in energy informatics. In research, the professor is expected to strengthen the research focus "Energy of the Future" at the University of Oldenburg and more specifically the research focus "ICT for energy efficiency" at the Department of Computing Science. Active collaboration with the "Energy" research and development division of the associated institute OFFIS is desired in this context. Candidates should be willing to actively participate in the university's self-administration.
