The successful applicant will work on the project "Carbon Pricing after Paris" (CarPri) financed by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. CarPri investigates the economic impacts of alternative international carbon pricing strategies to achieve the climate goals of the Paris Agreement. The project will be based on an international model comparison study under the umbrella of the reputed Stanford Energy Modelling Forum (EMF). A very appealing feature of CarPri is the international networking and capacity building on the field of applied economic analysis. Central objectives of the project are to publish excellent research in peer-reviewed international journals and provide robust policy insights to decision makers.
The precondition for hiring is an excellent University Master's degree in economics with a focus on microeconomic theory. In case of recruitment as a Postdoctoral research associate, a successful Ph.D degree in a relevant area of economics is also required. Ideally, you are familiar with numerical simulations based on computable partial or general equilibrium models. We expect very good communication abilities, the capability of working in a team and excellent English language skills. As all reports for the funding agency have to be submitted in German language, good German language skills are of advantage.
