The Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Department of Business Administration, Economics, and Law, Faculty II, Chair of Applied Macroeconomics (Prof. Dr. Jürgen Bitzer) invites applications for the following position, starting as soon as possible:

Research Associate
(E 13 TV-L - 100 %)

The contract is for an initial limited period of three years (and may be extended up to a maximum of six years total).

The research associate's responsibilities lie in supporting the department's teaching and research activities. The position is designed to allow junior scientists to earn higher qualifications, and provides the opportunity for completion of doctoral studies.

The precondition for hiring is a completed university master's degree in economics, either with a major in macroeconomics or with a focus on macroeconomics.

What we're looking for:

  • Outstanding knowledge of econometrics,
  • Initial experience in conducting economic analyses independently,
  • Outstanding knowledge in the area of economic growth and/or development economics,
  • Good knowledge of English.
