The Institute of Biology and environmental Sciences (IBU) at the Carl von Ossietzky University invites applications for a
PhD position (m/f/d)
(65%, E13 TV-L).
We are offering a 3 year - PhD position in sensory ecology. The project will be conducted within the framework of the DFG-funded Research Training Grant "Molecular Basis of Sensory Systems".
We are looking for a candidate holding a very good academic university degree (Master or equivalent) in sensory biology, sensory genetics, sensory behavioral ecology or a closely related subject.
In our working group, we are interested in fish specific, sensory traits that contribute to orientation behavior and dispersal; for example: what are the neuronal mechanisms of fish visual, magnetic or olfactory orientation? Therefore, the candidate should build up his project in these fields; in addition; the project requires also an interest in ecological processes and fish biology.

Salary and conditions: The position will be starting 1st of October 2019 for a duration of three years. Salary will be according to TVL E13 (65%).
