The "Ultrafast Nano-Optics" group (https://uol.de/en/physics/research/uno) at the Faculty V - Mathematics and Natural Sciences - of the University of Oldenburg invites applications for one
Ph.D. position (m/f/d)
salary level E 13 TV-L, 50 %
for a period of 3 years to be filled as soon as possible.
The research work shall apply ultrafast multidimensional optical spectroscopy methods to study photon-exciton coupling as a means for controlling coherent energy and charge transfer dynamics in functional optoelectronic nanomaterials interacting with localized light fields. The research is embedded in the priority program "Tailored Disorder" funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
We are offering an interdisciplinary scientific environment and provide expertise and scientific infrastructure to perform cutting-edge research in collaboration with leading national and international partners.
We are seeking candidates with a qualifying university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in physics or related areas. We expect competence in at least two areas comprising laser physics, spectroscopy, optics, solid state physics. We also expect high motivation, good communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team. Experience in the generation and characterization of ultrashort optical pulses and/or ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy would be desirable.
The University of Oldenburg is dedicated to increase the percentage of female employees in the field of science. Therefore, female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. In accordance to § 21 Section 3 NHG, female candidates with equal qualifications will be preferentially considered. Applicants with disabilities will be preferentially considered in case of equal qualification.
Please send your application (including a letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, certificates, list of publications and possible references) preferred electronically as a single PDF file no later than January, 28th 2020 to Prof. Dr. Christoph Lienau (Universität Oldenburg, Faculty V, Ultrafast Nano-Optics, 26111 Oldenburg, phone 0441-798 3485), email: firstname.lastname@example.org+vmjp.
