Research associate [wissenschaftliche:r Mitarbeiter:in] (f/m/d)
(Salary Group 13 TV-L, 100 % of regular working time)
position limited to two years.
This position is also suitable for part-time.
The position is a part of the research project "Spectral analysis for transmission conditions". The project is dedicated to the spectral theory of self-adjoint and indefinite Laplace and Dirac operators with transmission conditions along hypersurfaces. There are no teaching duties associated with the position, the knowledge of German is not required.
As part of the activity, the opportunity for further scientific qualification is offered. The starting date is at the latest October 1, 2022. This advertisement is subject to the provision of third-party funds by the German Research Foundation.
a completed doctoral degree in mathematics, with main emphasis on analysis or partial differential equations. The degree must be completed before the contract starts.
very good knowledge in one or more of the following research areas:
◦ self-adjoint extensions of partial differential operators,
◦ boundary value problems in domains with corners,
◦ spectral theory of partial differential operators,
◦ pseudodifferential operators and microlocal analysis,
which should normally be supported by relevant scientific publications.
Previous experience with boundary integral operators or non-semibounded differential operators is desirable.
