The Institute of Chemistry at the School of Mathematics and Science (School V) invites applications for the position of a

Professorship (m/f/x) of Inorganic Chemistry
salary scale W3

with an anticipated start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate is required to teach subject-specific courses in Inorganic Chemistry at the bachelor, master and graduate level. Proven experience in university teaching and the associated pedagogical-didactic aptitude and the establishment of an original research topic are therefore requested. The Institute of Chemistry is characterized by a strongly cooperative and empathetic culture. We are therefore looking for a scientist and teamplayer whose international recognition is documented, for example, by publications in international journals and successful third-party funding. The establishment of an independent research area supported by third-party funding in a current field of preparative inorganic chemistry, preferably in the fields of organometallic chemistry, functional molecular materials or bioinorganic chemistry with a focus on "chemical bond activation" is expected. A connection to the existing research foci of the School of Mathematics and Science and the University (e.g. Future Energy, Sensory Neuroscience, Sustainability) and participation in coordinated programmes is expected. As the universities of Bremen and Oldenburg are linked by a cooperation agreement, active participation in the cooperation is expected.

The appointment will be in accordance with the requirements of the state law of Lower Saxony for higher education (§ 25 NHG). The university is an equal opportunity employer and aims to increase the number of female faculty members. Qualified female candidates are especially encouraged to apply. Female candidates with equal qualification will be given preference. The university offers a wide package of training opportunities, including leadership development. Internal university facilities such as childcare provide support in the performance of duties. Disabled candidates with equal qualification will be given preference. The position is available for part-time employment.

Interested candidates should submit their application with curriculum vitae, relevant certificates, a list of publications, a synopsis of the past (five years) of research, including an overview of acquired funding, as well as a teaching philosophy and a research concept for planned research, an overview of current teaching experience and presentations until 12.06.2023, preferentially as a single pdf-document. Correspondence should be addressed to the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, School V, with reference to the Director of the Institute of Chemistry, Prof. Dr. Thomas Müller, via
