During the lecture an online Seminar Blog will be introduced. The protected online environment sevres to create a format of a teaching/learning platform allowing to read results from colleagues, exchange and comment on ideas. It allows to administer media.
This lecture gives an overview over the utilisation of renewable energy sources. The lecture handles this subject mainly from a natural scientific and technical point of view, nevertheless also social, historical and political aspects are regarded.
The different renewable energy sources are introduced, their most important physical laws and effects are explained and the magnitudes of their physical and technical potentials are named. The planned schedule of content for the upcoming summer semester is (subject to modifications):
Overview over global energy; current energy situation and importance of renewable energies; energy storage, personal energy balance; solar radiation & resources; solar energy systems I; solar energy systems II (optional with exercise); biomass; geothermal & ocean technologies; wind turbines; wind farms; optional exercise about wind energy; future power supply: scenarios; hydropower; transition of our energy supply: social and political aspects.
