Management of Technology Enhanced Learning (Master)

Ausrichtung und Ziele

Designed specifically for current and future TEL managers and leaders, the MTEL programme focuses on development of 1) student knowledge, and 2) practical professional competencies as related to technology enhanced learning (TEL) and its role in organisational and management processes, leadership and change management, information technology and business development, strategic planning and project management, quality assurance, and ethics and social responsibility.

By maximising the powerful mix of technologies and educational theories and principles, the MTEL programme equips students with the necessary skills and competences for designing, implementing, and managing technology enhanced learning (TEL) ventures across their organisations.
As a graduate of the MA Management of Technology Enhanced Learning, students will:
  • Develop and communicate a mission and vision for the implementation of TEL within their organisation
  • Function effectively as leader, manager, and team member within an online and distance learning (ODL) organisation
  • Develop strategic goals and business plans for TEL within their organisation
  • Analyse and recommend an organisational TEL plan, and manage the implementation of that technology in distance delivery
  • Design, implement, and assess the necessary support services for a TEL programme

Studienaufbau und Studieninhalte

Upon fulfilling the requirements of the Management of Technology Enhanced Learning (MTEL) programme, students will receive a Masters of Arts (MA) from the University of Oldenburg – and the prerequisite theoretical and practical foundation for management and leadership in TEL.

Within the MTEL master’s programme, students will complete six required courses and a master’s course module, in addition to six elective courses, which students choose based on their individual interest and professional goals.

Lehr- und Lernformen

The MTEL programme is a fully online graduate program, with instruction and learning occurring entirely within the framework of C3L’s C3LLO system. Each online course last 15 weeks and contains the components: content theme presentation, discussion questions, and tasks/exercises.
Course components are aligned with the content themes defined for each course module. MTEL courses are fully online, with all modules delivered using C3L’s learning management system (LMS) C3LLO, which serves as the primary conduit for students to collaborate with peers and the instructional team. Given the subject matter, MTEL courses frequently and extensively employ a variety of technologies in order to broaden student knowledge and exposure to technology trends and developments.

Sprachkenntnisse

German language skills are not required for admission.

In order to study this course at the University of Oldenburg, you need an adequate knowledge of English.

Zugangsvoraussetzungen

  • Bachelorabschluss oder diesem gleichwertigen Abschluss in einem fachlich geeigneten Studium im Umfang von mindestens 210 Leistungspunkten
  • Nachweis über berufspraktische Erfahrung von mindestens einem Jahr
  • Nachweis der Englischkenntnisse auf dem Niveau C1 gemäß des Gemeinsamen europäischen Referenzrahmens für Sprachen (GeR). Die nachgewiesene Qualifikation darf zum Zeitpunkt der Bewerbung nicht älter als 2 Jahre sein
  • Darstellung des beruflichen Werdegangs (Lebenslauf)
  • ggf. Nachweise über einschlägige außerhochschulische Zusatzqualifikationen und Weiterbildungen
