Title: Plasmonenresonanzaktive Edelmetall/TiO2-Komposite für selektive photokatalytische Reduktionen

PRODIGY- PROzessentwicklung in Der Gas-Feststoff PhotokatalYse für die Reduktion von CO2

This project is in collaboration with colleagues at the LIKAT Rostock, TU Berlin, HZB and KIT.

The aim of my subproject is the development of a new catalyst material based on TiO2 and plasmonic noble metal nanoparticles. Therefore, the work focusses on the synthesis of mesoporous and macro-mesoporous titania. Afterwards deposition of noble metal nanoparticles takes place to get LSPR for an enhancement of the photocatalytic activity for hydrogen production and CO2-reduction. The main goal is to synthesize a material with a high activity for the reduction reactions, which can use visible light for this reduction.
