Title: Ferrites for photoelectrochemical water splitting
Solar driven water splitting aims to be an effective way to produce H2 without the usage of fossil fuel. Nevertheless nowadays available catalysts are often made from scarce materials.
Ferrites MFe2O4, especially with M = Zn or Mg, are promising materials with fitting band positions for overall water splitting and made from abundant materials.
One of the aims of this work is the application of electrochemical methods to synthesize non-stoichiometric ferrites and fine-tune the metal-iron ratio and deposition conditions to improve the photoelectrochemical behaviour of the synthesized ferrites.
