Prime Research needs most professional usable services available

1978: Start to use email.

1989: BMBF-Research project to increase usage of PHYS-database:
The factor 1.000 of increase was reached by introduction of the then new enduser principle: users to learn the query language instead of librarians to learn theoretical physics.
The reaction was that the Database PHYS was sold (Too many responses from users,thus more work for the respective permanently payed government employee).

1995: Founding the IuK Initiative Information and Communication of the German Scientific Societies (most major societies and several smaller ones.
What it does: international and national Workshops, recommendations (epub, open access, metadata,..), political lobbying.

2000: starting my ISN Institute for Science Networking at Oldenburg/Germany
Development of novel services for Information Management in Science
Customers: science libraries , societies, institutions.

2002: member of the executive committee of
DINI German Initiative for NetworkInformation e.V.
About 100 German Libraries, Computer centers, mm-centers in science
The emerging German CNI-analog: National institution for Science Information Management Organisation and Standards
What it does:

• Metadata-Standards for science and teaching; MSRI-German-Branch
• Library registry of professional Open Access services,
• epublication standards
• Actions of DINI: workshops, flyers (OA), recomendations, registries, international committees

• All major science organisations; [WR, MPG, HRK, HG, WGL,.. ]: positive:DFG, BMBF
• 250 Universities, Libraries, Institutions;
• more than 3.000 individual members signed the Göttingen declaration.

Acitivities: Draft of Urheberrechts-Law; poltical lobbying; public awareness; stirring up of scientists;

At present: contacting every single member of parliament; contact to the German Law Minister.
