Dr. Jens Meyerjürgens
My scientific focus is on determining key physical processes responsible for transporting and accumulating anthropogenic pollutants and biological and chemical substances at the ocean surface. In particular, my investigations focus on hydrodynamic processes in coastal areas, which differ significantly from those in the open ocean and are characterized by multi-layered interactions such as tidal forcing and submesoscale current patterns.
