The Big Future Festival in Oldenburg
The University of Oldenburg's Transfer department promotes the targeted exchange between science, business and society and actively supports the development of innovations and sustainable projects. Through individual counselling services, the teaching of methodological skills, strategic co-operation and practical projects, university members are empowered to bring scientific findings into real-world application, thereby sustainably strengthening regional development and social progress.
The University of Oldenburg's understanding of transfer
The University of Oldenburg is committed to a broad understanding of transfer that encompasses all disciplines and is consistently developed from research and teaching. It consistently and systematically promotes knowledge-based transfer in the region's economy, society, politics and culture in the three fields of action "Shaping innovation", "Bringing science and society into dialogue" and "Promoting non-university career paths".
"Transfer" is always visible at the university where the findings and results of scientific work are "transferred" to differentiated target groups, particularly outside of the university's own scientific community. This happens, for example, with the patenting of innovative new developments, the founding or support of knowledge and technology-based start-ups or the communication of scientific findings to a broad, interested public. Graduates also transfer their knowledge to the economy and society.
We do not see transfer as a one-sided perspective from within the university, but rather it is characterised by mutually dependent and enriching interactions with numerous stakeholders from business and society.
