Current waiting period: approx. 10 weeks
Please refrain from sending status enquiries by email during this period. If you have any questions, please contact us in person or by telephone.

Recognition explained in the video
This video is part of the series "Explanatory videos for starting your studies" and was created by the Central Student and Career Counselling Service as part of the Participate@UOL project.
Recognition of Examinations
You can submit an application for recognition if you
- have come to the University of Oldenburg from another place of study;
- have switched between programmes at the University of Oldenburg (e.g. your combination of subjects);
- have completed components abroad.
Please note that recognition can only take place after you have enrolled at the University of Oldenburg.
New e-mail address
Since 7 May, the Recognition team has a new e-mail address:
Please send your documents to this address from now on.
Note Service enquiry number
When you write to the Recognition team, you will automatically receive a reply with a service enquiry number in the subject line.
Background: We use a ticket system. Every new email without an existing number creates a new ticket, which can significantly delay the processing of your request.
After a rejection
In the event of a rejection that you have questions about or that you cannot understand, we recommend that you first contact the Recognition team in person during our office hours. We will be happy to explain the process and the decision made by the specialised representative body.
