Philosophical Colloquium
Monday, 18-20, Room A14-1-103 (lecture hall 3)
The Philosophical Colloquium is intended for students of all levels. It consists of thematically independent lectures and takes place once every two weeks. Since each lecture is self-contained, the Colloquium allows everyone to participate without having to take on an obligation for the whole semester.
Most of the presentations are lectures by philosophers from Germany and abroad, making it possible to go beyond the research fields in which Oldenburg specialises so as to get a broader understanding of contemporary philosophy.
Moreover, the Colloquium offers the opportunity for Oldenburg's philosophers - advanced students as well as lecturers - to present and discuss their own ideas. In these cases it takes the form of a workshop where ill-conceived thoughts are explicitly welcome and where the participants strive to engage with philosophical problems collectively. Those who might wish to give such a presentation may contact one of the institute's lecturers one term in advance.
