Emmanuel Asane-Otoo

Faculty II – School of Computing Science, Business Administration, Economics and Law
Department of Business Administration, Economics and Law
At the university since: 2013 (first as a PhD student, since 2019 as a junior professor)

I am #UOL because...

…of my dedication to mentoring students, conducting policy-relevant research, and fostering a collaborative and dynamic academic environment.

What I like about my job is...

…being part of a diverse and inclusive academic community that continuously strives for excellence.

A special moment for me at the university is...

…the annual International Summer Fest organized by the International Office. On this day, I get the opportunity to experience the intercultural aspects of the university and enjoy music, dance, and delicious food from different cultures. It’s my favorite time of the year at the university.

I would you like to swap places for a week with...

…one of the cooks at the Mensa or Cafeteria. I enjoy cooking – even though I’m not very good at it – and am always curious about the mass production process of diverse dishes that students and staff enjoy during lunch. Perhaps my one-week stay there will afford me the opportunity to learn the secret recipe for their delicious Panini, which I love.

I wish the university for the next 50 years...

…that it achieves climate neutrality, continues pursuing academic excellence, expands global collaborations and maintains a nurturing environment that inspires future generations of academics and leaders.
