COAST, the ‘Centre for Environment and Sustainability Research’ is looking for
two student assistants for 20 hours / month (each) to support
research and teaching as of 01.04.2023
The "International Virtual Seminar - Water and Climate" (IVS-WaC) is a digital collaborative module with international partners from Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal and Romania. In the IVS-WaC seminar, two teaching- learning formats are used, containing both asynchronous and synchronous elements. On the one hand, all students are taught 6 main topics through guest lectures by the lecturers and experts from the field. On the other hand, students work in small groups to complete a paper on one of the topics and develop a short film or podcast to share the results with all participants and beyond.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communication with international lecturers and students.
- Organization of partner meetings
- Updating the website (http://uol.de/ivswac) and maintaining the Moodle platform
- Evaluation of the course
- Participation and moderation of group discussions (2 hours every 2 weeks)
- Support during the overall seminar
- Organization of digital workshop
- Develop promotional materials to recruitment students
- Adapting the module handbook and module guide
- Other organizational tasks
Requirements:
- Responsible, thorough and structured approach to work
- Excellent knowledge of English (working language English)
- Interest in sustainability research topics
- At least first master's semester
We offer a comprehensive insight into the organization and implementation of teaching and research in a highly relevant field. You would be part of a young, dedicated and interdisciplinary team. The working time is 20 hours per month and is designed for the period 01.04.23-31.03.24.
