The Department for Research and Technology Transfer is the central point for registering and exploiting scientific inventions at the University of Oldenburg.

During the discussion about increasingly scarce resources for universities, it is the declared aim of the university management to make efficient use of the University of Oldenburg’s research potential in cooperation with the federal state of Lower Saxony.

Promoting the patents initiative enables the University to register inventions independently with the help of federal and state support. The Department for Research and Technology Transfer carries out the procedure in coordination with the Presidential Chair as well as in cooperation with the patent utilisation agency InnoWI GmbH (Bremen).

For the handling of inventions and patents of the University of Oldenburg, the Presidential Chair has decided on guidelines, in which essential procedures are described.
