Advanced Nursing Practice - Master's Programme

Orientation and Goals

From the winter semester 2024/25, the University of Oldenburg will be offering the part-time Master's degree programme in Advanced Nursing Practice.

The aim of the programme is to train nurses as advanced practice nurses and prepare them for a clinical-practical professional role. The focus is on the ability to make science-based actions and decisions in direct nursing interactions.

The curriculum is orientated towards the skills that will be required in the future by academically trained nurses to ensure evidence-based care practice. The focus is on clinical expertise and the implementation of Advanced Practice Nursing roles in the respective care settings.

Students should acquire the skills to

  • analyse highly complex problems
  • develop new evidence-based solution strategies and nursing concepts
  • work on research questions in an interdisciplinary context
  • offer effective nursing services according to the latest scientific findings and reflect on these critically
  • actively promote healthcare on the basis of professional knowledge and actively support digitalisation.
