Your profile

The requirements for employment are a completed academic University degree and a PhD degree in Physics. We are looking for excellent candidates, certified by a doctoral degree with distinction (summa cum laude or equivalent). The talented and motivated candidates will have extensive knowledge and experience in the development and evaluation of many-body methods for solid-state systems with a particular focus on 2D materials, semiconductor nanostructures, open quantum systems and cavity-QED systems. Longstanding experience in connecting ab-initio and semiconductor-optics approaches with a focus on 2D materials, as well as the operation of high-performance computing resources and MPI/parallel programming is required. Extensive experience in cooperating with experimental groups is compulsory. Competent English language skills are required. 

The candidate is expected to have a clear research profile and visibility and to have independently coordinated this research activity, with the possibility to acquire a habilitation degree. 

Experience in the independent acquisition of research funds, and in the coordination of research projects is compulsory. Teaching experience in the fields of advanced topics in theoretical physics is expected.
