About us
The School V of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg is seeking to fill the position of a research assistant in the DFG project “Structural Changes of Forisomes at Surfaces upon Natural and Artificial Stimuli” at the earliest possible date for 3 years.
Your tasks
The research tasks include the investigation of artificial forisomes using infrared microscopy (IRM) and electrochemical scanning microscopy (SECM), whereby a coupling of the two methods shall be developed. The proteins have to be bound to specially customized surfaces. Subsequently, it will be investigated to which stimuli the artificial forisomes react and alter their shape and which changes in the protein structure trigger this reaction. Details of the project can be found at https://gepris.dfg.de/gepris/projekt/550743680. The research work should serve as preparation for a doctoral thesis.
Your profile
Prerequisites for employment are a scientific university MSc. degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics or related subjects, practical experience in wet chemical laboratory work combined with an interest in instrumental measurement techniques for solving biochemical and biotechnological problems as well as English language skills. Previous practical and theoretical experience in spectroscopy and electrochemical measurement methods is an advantage.
