The PhD tutors offer assistance for international PhDs during the first months in Oldenburg.

If you have questions concerning:

  • registration at the Citizen´s Office
  • permit of residence, matriculation
  • finding a flat
  • daily life

you can contact them via (phd.tutor[at]uni-oldenburg.de).

You can also find more information on the PhD tutors here...

Financial Support

The PhD study programme is generally tuition free. In Germany the universities are financed by the government. Students and doctoral candidates have to pay an enrolment fee of about 400 Euros per semester.

German health insurance is obligatory for all students. Special low-price health insurance is offered to all students under 30 years. This insurance covers the costs of normal medical treatment in Germany.

Unfortunately individual stipends are currently not available. We recomment to contact the supervisor of your individual research project for scholarships funds to apply for.
