Climate change and its impacts are currently one of the pressing societal issues. Our lifestyle, based on high energy consumption, makes the expansion of renewable energies imperative. This is an immense industrial and economic challenge. In this context, wind energy plays a special role as one of the cheapest ways to generate electrical energy.
The lecture 'Wind Energy: The Turbulent Path to a Carbon-Free Energy Supply' will summarize the current development of wind energy. Furthermore, it aims to show from a physicist's perspective what contributions fundamental research in physics can make to the modern development of wind energy systems.
This lecture will take place on 13.12.2023 from 4 to 5:30 PM in person at Magnus-Haus, Berlin, and will also be available online. Further information can be found here: https://www.dpg-physik.de/veranstaltungen/2023/mhb-agsen-2023-12-13
