Qualification Concept
Qualification Concept
The underlying vision of SCARE’s qualification concept is to support doctorands in their development towards becoming a researcher, able to independently perform research on complex problems and to become an active and interacting member of the international research community.
Graduate Seminar and Courses
For SCARE doctorands, active participation in a graduate seminar (to be organized once every two weeks) is compulsory. Here, doctorands and peers will present and discuss PhD and research topics and actively strive towards a common terminological and methodological understanding and basis for synergistic research. In dedicated sessions, invited guest researchers will give presentations. Furthermore, they will be open to discussing PhD or research questions either in an open forum or on a 1-to-1 basis with the young researchers. Collegiates as well as stipend holders will be explicitly encouraged to also invite and organize visits of guest researchers of their choice. Additionally, particular courses with relation to research topics and foundations of SCARE and AVACS (see Scientific Context in Oldenburg) will be offered.
