Prof. Dr. Marius Sältzer was appointed to the professorship for "Digital Social Science" at the Institute for Social Sciences at the University of Oldenburg in February 2023. 

Sältzer studied economics and political science in Mannheim and Hamburg. His doctoral dissertation, completed in 2021 at the University of Mannheim, focused on methods for identifying the positions of politicians based on their contributions to social media. After completing his doctorate, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher, first at the University of Basel (Switzerland) and then at the Computational Social Science Department of the Leibniz Institute of Social Science (GESIS)
