KinderUni: Who was hiding in the piano?

It grinds, rattles, scrapes and rings - the piano in the Audimax of the university's lecture theatre centre. Is it possessed by a wild spirit? Musicologist Christiane Abt will uncover the mystery together with KinderUni students on Wednesday, 4 September at 4.30 pm in her lecture "Mysterious sounds or: Who is hiding in the piano?".

Abt will delve into the history of the piano with the eight to twelve-year-olds, including small demonstrations and experiments. The young scientists can find out how sounds are created and how they can be changed.

Tickets cost 2 euros and are available from Nordwest Ticket GmbH on 0421/363636 and 01805/361136 (14 c/min.) as well as from the NWZ offices. Admission to the lecture theatre centre on Uhlhornsweg is from 4.00 pm. Accompanying adults can follow the event as usual on a screen in the foyer of the building. The Malteser Hilfsdienst will provide security on site.

Anyone who would like to familiarise themselves with the topic of the lecture now has the opportunity to do so in the children's library at the PFL and all Oldenburg district libraries. Special book tables have been set up here.

The media partners of the KinderUniversität Oldenburg are the Nordwest-Zeitung, NDR 1 Niedersachsen and Radio Bremen Vier. The project is supported by Landessparkasse zu Oldenburg (LzO) as well as Nordmetall, the business association "Der Kleine Kreis e.V." and "Junge Öffentliche".
