Many exciting stories about adventurers, pirates and explorers are set at sea - and what the surface of the sea looks like is no longer a secret. But what does it look like in the depths? And why is it important to research it? That's what the KinderUni lecture "What is there to discover underwater? Robots conquer the sea" on Wednesday, 12 September at 4.30 pm in the Audimax of the lecture theatre centre. Together with young students aged eight to twelve, marine researcher Prof Dr Oliver Zielinski will dive deep into the oceans and show, for example, how robots help researchers to measure the weather in the ocean.
Tickets (2 euros) for the lecture are available from Nordwest Ticket GmbH on 0421/363636 and 01805/361136 (14 c/min.) as well as from the NWZ offices.
Admission to the lecture theatre centre on Uhlhornsweg is from 4.00 pm. Accompanying adults can follow the event as usual on a screen in the foyer of the building. The Malteser Hilfsdienst will provide security on site.
If you would like to familiarise yourself with the topic of the lecture now, you can do so in all Oldenburg district libraries and in the youth library (Peterstraße). Special book tables have been set up here.
The media partners of the KinderUniversität Oldenburg are the Nordwest-Zeitung, NDR 1 Niedersachsen and Radio Bremen Vier. The project is supported by Landessparkasse zu Oldenburg (LzO), Nordmetall, the business association "Der Kleine Kreis e.V." and "Junge Öffentliche".
