"Peer Gynt" by Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906) is on the programme of an interdisciplinary theatre project by School III - School of Linguistics and Cultural Studies. The premiere is on Thursday, 12 July at 8 p.m. in the auditorium (Building A 11, Haarentor campus).
Students are using absurd theatre to stage the life story of the outsider, cut-up and failure Peer Gynt - under the direction of Peter Vollhardt, Artistic Associate at the Institute of Music. A total of 52 students and four teachers are involved in the multimedia project: Students from the Institute of Music perform theatre scenes, supplemented by video sequences produced by students on the Integrated Media master's degree course. The costume design comes from the Institute of Material Culture. The University Orchestra, conducted by Rida Murtada, will play movements from the "Peer Gynt" compositions by Harald Sæverud and Edvard Grieg.
Admission is 8 euros, concessions 5 euros. To book tickets in advance, email: peter.vollhardt@uol.de.
