Fun, a relaxed atmosphere and a variety of activities. The University Sports Centre has something for everyone. Even during the coronavirus crisis, there are plenty of ways to stay fit.

Already tried active meditation? No? Well, why not give it a go at the University Sports Centre. Thanks to the more than 200 activities in more than 100 types of sport, the Sports Centre really does have something for everyone – even for people who are not really into sports. We only sit down to play chess. The focus at the Sports Centre is on recreational, popular and fitness sports.

The many fitness programmes, martial arts lessons and dance classes add a little variety to everyday student life. If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary, but guaranteed to be great fun, why not try one of the latest trending sports such as jokeiba, ultimate frisbee or quidditch? At the University Sports Centre, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. You can try many of the activities whenever you like and without having to register first.

Quick training session in between lectures?

Due to the current situation, all sports facilities are closed. However, those who would like to do sports on their own can use the sports facilities on the Wechloy campus during normal operation. Here, you will also find a woodchip trail, beach volleyball and tennis courts, as well as a calisthenics park where you can work out and clear your head. If you want to fit in a quick training session in between lectures or classes, then the University Sports Fitness and Health Centre – complete with modern equipment – is the place to be. Also good to know: most of the sports facilities, including the studiO fitness centre, have barrier-free access.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the sports programme is currently limited. You can find more information about the current situation on the University Sports Centre website. Thanks to the initiative #wirbleibenzuhause_fit (#stayingfitathome), you can register to take part in online courses. University sports instructors have also compiled videos with training tips and workouts that you can do at home. So, what are you waiting for? Get involved and say goodbye to those lazy days on the couch!
