Already tried active meditation? No? Well, why not give it a go at the University Sports Centre. Thanks to the more than 200 activities in more than 100 types of sport, the Sports Centre really does have something for everyone – even for people who are not really into sports. We only sit down to play chess. The focus at the Sports Centre is on recreational, popular and fitness sports.

The many fitness programmes, martial arts lessons and dance classes add a little variety to everyday student life. If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary, but guaranteed to be great fun, why not try one of the latest trending sports such as jokeiba, ultimate frisbee or quidditch? At the University Sports Centre, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The registration deadline for the courses of the winter semester 2022/23 is 4th of October. If you don't get a place on the course you want or miss the deadline, don't fret. You can try many of the activities whenever you like and without having to register first.

Quick training session in between lectures?

Those who would like to do sports on their own can use the sports facilities on the Wechloy campus during normal operation. Here, you will also find a woodchip trail, beach volleyball and tennis courts, as well as a calisthenics park where you can work out and clear your head. If you want to fit in a quick training session in between lectures or classes, then the University Sports Fitness and Health Centre – complete with modern equipment – is the place to be. Students can also use the university pool during public swimming hours without prior registration. Also good to know: most of the sports facilities, including the studiO fitness centre, have barrier-free access.

A little hint: First-semester students can get to know the "studiO", the university pool and the sauna free of charge. You can find the relevant vouchers in the voucher booklet "Oldenburger Kultour + Sport".
