Theory and Practice of Sports

Welcome to the Research Area 'Theory and Practice of Sports'

Theory and practice of sports are key components of sport studies, both during the Bachelor and in the Master phase. Students with the aim, teaching basic / primary or secondary school or an extracurricular career goal will study their entire sports practice in the Bachelor. Master of Education students with high school teaching careers, special and business education will study sports practice in different modules in the Master phase. In the Master of Arts programme "Sport and Lifestyle" practice seminars are also planned.

Alongside to practice seminars in the basic modules 3 and 4 the theory courses "Moving and Shaping" and "Games" are offered. In the practice seminars of the advanced and Master modules the respective theoretical parts are integrated in the practice seminars.

Most courses offer sport practice exercises. These are led by students and enable an intensive study of the respective sports and a focused preparation for the final practice exam.

In addition, students have the opportunity to train in special time slots.
