ORBISplus

ORBISplus is the online catalogue of the University Library Oldenburg. All publications, print versions of journals and multimedia devices (such as DVDs, software that comes along with books, etc.) is listed in this catalogue. If you are looking for a specific publication, ORBIS should be the first catalogue to consult. If you have any questions about the library, the catalogue or literature search in general, the library offers guided tours and instructional courses: link.

BLLDB

The BLLDB (Bibliography of Linguistic Literature) [full access via ORBISplus] is the online version of the Bibliography of Linguistic Literature (BLL) and contains about 391,000 references to linguistic publications from 1971 onward. It was created and is still updated by the "Sondersammelgebiet Allgemeine Linguistik" of the university library Frankfurt (Main). The BLLDB includes references to monographs, journal articles, articles in edited volumes, dissertations and  manuscripts. It is therefore a good starting point if you are searching for literature on a specific topic but are not aware of any publications yet. Another intriguing feature of the BLLDB is the direct link to the EZB (see below). Once you have found an interesting journal article, BLLDB checks if your local library has a subscription for the journal the article was published in and links you directly to the full text. EZB

The EZB (Europäische Zeitschriftenbibliothek) is a search interface that offers access to academic full text journals. Since the journals are filed according to subject, the EZB allows you to browse through different journals in the topic areas of "English and American Studies", "Linguistic and Literary Studies" and many more. You should note, however, that you cannot search for individual articles within the journals via EZB. For this, you need to consult the search engines of each journal. If you are in the initial stages of a literature search, you should rather consult a bibliography (e.g. BLLDB, see above) than the EZB. Once you have established which articles you need (and know which journals they were published in), the EZB is a powerful tool that leads you to the full text of the article directly. Whether or not the full text of the article is available depends on the subscription of the individual librarie
