MS-PCC

The Marine Spaces – Planning / Culture / Climate (MS-PCC) project is a two-stage effort to design, create, and maintain a Joint Master programme integrating the management of Maritime Cultural Heritage, principles of Marine Spatial Planning, and aspects of Climate Change.

Policy positions in the UN 2030 Agenda, the Blue Growth Strategy of the EU, the UN Decade of Ocean Science, and other actions require cross-disciplinary expertise in these themes for their implementation, yet no taught postgraduate programme in the EHEA jointly addresses these issues.

The aim of the MS-PCC is to meet the needs established by these long-term policies and simultaneously to fill this gap within the educational environment. Existing postgraduate programmes from Koç University (Turkey), and the Universities of Oldenburg (Germany) and Copenhagen (Denmark), will be the core of this integrated transnational programme, whereas senior experts from the State Archaeology Department of Schleswig-Holstein (Germany) and the Ocean Decade Heritage Network (Denmark) will have key advisory roles. Outputs of the first stage of the MS-PCC include a Joint Draft Partnership Agreement, a Joint Draft Student Agreement, and an Open Access Manual.
