Orientation and Goals
The master's programme in Computing Science at the University of Oldenburg builds upon the B.Sc. in Computing Science. It is designed to convey further knowledge and skills in computing science that will qualify graduates to pursue their future careers as employees or managers in the IT sector. Alternatively, this programme qualifies graduates to continue their career as scientists and researchers.

Foreign Language Skills
In order to study this course at the University of Oldenburg as a student from outside of Germany, you need an adequate knowledge of German.

Careers and Areas of Employment
Graduates possess qualified skills in the specification, implementation, optimisation, and validation of complex IT systems for information, communication, and guidance. Furthermore, they are able to implement these skills or lead their implementation. In the process of working on an extensive, practically oriented project as part of a team, you will learn team work, as well as the skills needed to prepare convincing presentations on your own work or that of others. It is precisely these enhanced skills that will enable you to achieve leading roles in industrial development teams or to work on your own independent research projects. Furthermore, there is also an opportunity to follow the successful completion of the master's programme by moving on to doctoral studies.
Target Group/Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computing Science or from prior studies in a closely related, engineering scientifical field
- A schedule for the acquirement of missing ECTS credits, if the bachelor degree has not been completed by the time of application.

This is an open admissions degree course, and applications are accepted for both the winter and summer semesters.
