Dear friends and supporters!
Dear students of the University of Oldenburg!
For the last nine years, the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg has taken part in the Deutschlandstipendium programme and supported highly motivated young people in their studies each year with funding from private sponsors.
How does it work?
A special aspect of the Deutschlandstipendium is that half of the funding is provided by the state and the other half is contributed by private sponsors. These dual contributions amount to a monthly grant of € 300 for each scholarship holder. The more funds the University collects, the more scholarships it can award. A maximum of 1.5% of students each year can be supported.
Many of the people, foundations, associations and societies that have made financial contributions to scholarships at the University of Oldenburg since 2011 still take part today and keep in touch with the students they supported. Our sponsors reach out to the talented researchers of tomorrow: they can exchange experiences, offer support or simply give something back for the opportunities they themselves received during their time as students.
The financial support which scholarship holders receive is only half of the award. The Deutschlandstipendium also recognises achievement and social commitment which motivates students to outstanding performance and signals them that they are on the right path.
