News and dates 2012

With the Bologna reform at the latest, group work has become an essential part of project- or research-oriented learning. The new forms of communication that go hand in hand with this often lead to a quiet babble of voices in courses. This disturbs everyone - but especially students with hearing impairments or with a different native language, for example. How can this disturbing background noise be reduced through university didactic measures? This question is being addressed by the "Hearing-sensitive University of Oldenburg" working group, which will be funded by the Randstad Foundation from August 2012. Among others, students with speech comprehension impairments will contribute their perspectives to this research project, which will be supported by scholarships from project funds. Positions for student assistants are also available.
