The Institute of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation specialises in empirical-applied research for evidence-based special needs education and rehabilitation practice in prevention, intervention and rehabilitation. The promotion of young researchers is a high priority. The Institute's central research focuses relate to I) barriers and multiple impairments, II) professionalisation in specialist training, III) digitality and assistive technologies and IV) communication.
