"Contributions to excellent teaching: Diversity at universities - participation through hearing sensitivity!"
Under this title, an expert conference sponsored by the Randstad Foundation will take place in Oldenburg on 13 June between 10.00 and 17.00. At this interdisciplinary conference, experts will exchange views on the characteristics of "excellent teaching" at universities. This will be done with a special focus on hearing sensitivity. As part of further data collection, the focus will then be on how to describe the competences required of lecturers in this regard and how a concept for teaching these competences should be designed as part of a higher education didactic qualification module.

Day against noise
Once again this year, we successfully organised various events to mark the Day against Noise. With a stand in the cafeteria foyer with lots of information on the topic of noise and, above all, noise protection, we were able to draw people's attention to sources of danger and current discussions.
Students had the opportunity to leave their opinions on the topic of "Noise at the University of Oldenburg" on slips of paper on notice boards, so that a picture emerged of the places at the university where learning is often particularly hindered by noise. As we cannot act in all places at the same time and make learning easier for students, we also distributed earplugs so that students can give their hearing a rest in stressful situations.
With a hearing quiz, our visitors were able to find out how loud different noises are in the university and its surroundings, and students were also able to examine their sense of hearing more closely and take part in a hearing test in the library hall.
With candy floss, lots of information, balloons and a hearing test, the day against noise was once again a success and a lot of fun.
