The examination of their second subject has inspired eleven art students at the University of Oldenburg to create a wide range of artistic works. Their exhibition "Zweifach" can be seen until 26 January in the Hörsaalzentrum (Haarentor campus, building A14, Uhlhornsweg 86). The building is open on weekdays from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm.
The works were created last summer semester under the direction of lecturer Natascha Kaßner from the Institute of Art and Visual Culture. The exhibits range from paintings and object art to photography. Student Christina Bloem, for example, creates a link to the classic fairy tale in her works by incorporating key words from well-known fairy tales into her objects. The world of the poem "Jabberwocky" from Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland", to which Franziska Schäfermeier has painted an airy series of watercolours, is also fairytale-like.
Philosophical trees of knowledge grow into the blue sky in a painting by Kay Langfeldt. Other works by the students deal with the priestly blessing, thought and brain structures, syntax trees and books. Hendrikje Polkehn developed a new type of T-shirt based on her second subject "Material Culture", Christina Seels dealt with chemical elements, while Christina Smirnova made colourful Matryoshkas out of papier-mâché.
