A literary magazine called "Persephonyx", for which you can send in photos, caricatures and comics. Or a music video without cuts, called Lipdub, in which the performers sing playback: About two projects by students who are out and about creatively on campus.

A literary magazine by and for students: When German Studies student Inga Rottinghaus first heard about the idea, she was immediately enthusiastic. It fell into her hands during a semester abroad at Kingston University in London. Back in Oldenburg, she convinced her fellow students Ingo Robbe, Lisa Boekhoff and Julia Woest, and together they set about realising it.

The literary magazine Persephonyx has been published once a semester since the 2009/2010 winter semester. "The name is a mixture of Persephone, the Greek goddess of the changing seasons, and Nyx, the daughter of the god of dreams. But we don't want to give a definitive explanation, we want to arouse curiosity," says editorial team member Ingo Robbe.
The content is also intended to arouse curiosity: In addition to literary contributions, students can send in photos, caricatures and comics. The team also regularly organises readings.

Katharina Proske and Theresa Beschnidt are also creatively active on campus. In July, the two students on the Integrated Media Master's programme filmed the university's first LipDub. A music video in which the performers move their lips to match the lyrics, i.e. sing playback. The idea originated in the USA. However, German universities are now also using this video format to present their own university. "The energy that is conveyed in this way is what makes us so enthusiastic," explains Beschnidt.

Beschnidt and Proske worked closely with university staff during the preparations for the shoot: For example, the canteen staff provided packed lunches for the helpers and building management ensured the necessary barriers were in place on the day of filming. The two organisers sought support from music lecturer Christoph Micklisch for the musical realisation. He wrote the LipDup song "Hey you student". And the choreography is also a genuine student self-made production. So we can look forward to the first university LipDub.
